I WAS CURSED BY JERRY LEWIS

Comedian JERRY LEWIS was in town doing a one man talk show and though everyone who has had encounters with him have spoken of it as being unpleasant. A few years ago he spoke at a hospital and I should have used that as a lesson. I along with one other person who was a patient waited as he was pushed down the hall in a wheelchair with our request for seeking an autograph As he approached . He stated" I do not do that" and was whisked by us. When a young boy approached him with a little piece of paper with the same request, Lewis asked him" Would You be disappointed if I do not sign" and the young boy said " Yes" Lewis then responded " Deal with it" and off he went in his ride. Now my 2 friends HotDog and Rocketman thought the chances were zero to none but we were willing to give it the college try. First as I was waiting for them to show up before our journey , I slipped with a serious injury to my right hamstring. Though I was hurting I wa

DO NOT BLAME JERRY RICE

Image
Like so many of us we marveled at the grace and finesse JERRY PRICE exhibited when he stared as one if not the best receiver in NFL History. Not because many rank him as the greatest to play the game, when I had the opportunity to meet him nothing was going to stop me to someone I enjoyed watching but someone I always respected. He was participating the BRIAN GAY Charity\Golf tournament and with my inability to get to the Tourney a friend passed on when he was leaving town. TMZ has made meetings of celebs at the Airport more common and though I am not an advocate, it was an opportunity I could not resist. There was about 20 people waiting and many of them either got him coming into Orlando or at the Golf Tournament. When Jerry came out of his car he instantly looked over and saw a line of all the graphers waiting for him to come over. I instantly saw a distain look of pure disgust. Some graphers truly believe that celebs do not remember faces with the idea that if they change th

REMEMBERING DAVID BOWIE and when noticed gave a tip of his hat and a shy of a smile and went on his way.

A couple of days have passed with the news of DAVID BOWIE passing and though there have been many testimonials on this legend sharing another will only boost his legacy. The first time I heard Bowies magical voice was in 1969 with the iconic SPACE ODDITY and I was hooked for life. A girlfriend in high school heard of my tooting this musical pioneer and bought my first album ZIGGY STARDUST. I played it until there was grooves in the LP and when I was lucky enough to have it autographed a few years later it will always be one of my prized processions.. Over the years he metaphorized from one person to the next changing his music to want he believed in and not what the producers wanted to sell records to the flavor of the year.A friend of mine once was in a deli when David came in and ordered a bagel and coffee . When he was approached his said Thanks, tipped his hat and gave that famous shy of a smile. When I was young 69 seemed a bit old but as I have entered my later years I realiz

ENGELBERT HUMPERDINCK IS OUR MISSION

Image
For years Englebert Humperdinck has been singing to the delight of so many especially the female persuasion and when the legend of the Man came to town he was able to draw big crowds to the Central Florida area. Though 79 he still can carry his tunes and along with PLEASE RELEASE ME he played on for almost 90 minutes. About 2 years ago a few of us drove a good distance in hopes of getting his autograph after his show but ended in a disappointment. He came out and came over quickly to say hello and turned away as quickly as he came. So in the autograph world when situations like that happen we take the attitude that we are on a mission to try again and most importantly attain the result that we always wanted. With a 300 dollar ticket a meet and greet is included there were several that wanted the opportunity. With the help of a true angel and the promoter Our albums were signed but the mission was not complete unless we got a picture with him. Now with comments from his manager t

IS COMEDIAN JON LOVITZ SOCIALLY AWKWARD

Image
Over the years I have always admired JON LOVITZ as a comedian and actor over the years. From his start with SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE ( Always loved the line THATS'S THE TICKET) to movies LEAGUE OF OUR OWN and CITY SLICKERS I and II, he always had a style that was a bit quirky but something that made us laugh and smile. In between movies he does a standup act at Improve clubs where the crowds are up close and personal. With Orlando as a stop it gave a few of us with the opportunity to meet this comic legend. We had heard through our circles of contacts that he was not very personal and not pleasant on autograph requests. Even with that as a POSSIBILITY we all were anxious to have the chance of being one on one. He did an interview with a local radio station where he arrived with his dog Jerry. When he entered he appeared almost uncomfortable when we approached him and though he told us he will see us after the interview he signed one autograph each. Bur after he exited the elevat

AMERICA FERRERA, AMY GRANT, AND MEREDITH FERRIRA ARE CLASS ACTS

Image
With some many stars worried that every time you ask for an autograph that they take an attitude that you are only asking to sell the autograph and regardless if You may be a true fan. Just prior to New Years Disney had AMERICA FERRERA, AMY GRANT and MEREDITH FERRIRA as the guest narrators at Disneys Christmas Processional and all did a marvelous job in their narration with a different approach in their telling the story of Christmas beginnings. It was the first time for America and Meredith with Amy returning from a couple of years ago. America strolled out and though she may had been tired smiled and took photos with all that asked. Rumor has had it that she may be difficult at times but that night she was a princess. Meredith was as charming and friendly as anyone I can remember and made us all feel that it was her pleasure to meet us but in reality it was ours. Amy was the last narration of the season and her beauty is so noticeable inside and out on how she welcomed all that req
