SHINING MOMENT WITH BILLY CRYSTAL

       Like so many people in life, we have certain individuals on our bucket list that we may have the opportunity to meet one day. One of mine is actor,Director, writer comedian BILLY CRYSTAL.



With a stop over in Orlando he was performing at a local venue and the opportunity was there for the taking. So Rocketman and I positioned ourselves in the hopes of meeting this comedy legend and hoped our good luck would continue. As we waited we spotted and met actress BONNIE HUNT who was charming signing autographs and taking a picture with us. Then without warning I glanced up and LARRY BIRD the HOF Basketball Legend came strolling up without fan fare. Many say he is very tough when approached but not this time. He towered over us and couldn't have been more pleasant. He posed for pictures and even signed an autograph with out reservation. Now if it ended there We couldn't have asked for anymore but then BILLY CRYSTAL CAME IN OUR VIEW. I politely asked if he would sign 2 books he had written and did so in scripting both beautifully. He signed Rockets photos and we were also lucky enough to get a Great picture with before he took off to do his show. We were later told a bunch of graphers followed him back from the venue and was not pleased but who could blame him. He probably was tired and just finished up a 400 dollar meet and greet.
So the night could not have been better and we felt that we just bet on and win the Trifecta and that does not happen every day.

We were watching the championship Basketball game when breaking news of the shooting of singer Christina Grimmie flashed across the bottom of the screen on one of the local TV stations here in Orlando. Though I was not very familiar with Christina though I did remember her powerful performance in the VOICE competion which she placed a respectful 3rd. What I was truly familiar was the venue where this tragedy happen called the PLAZA LIVE. I have seen many shows there and have met even more acts after with most signing autographs and taking photos with all their different fans. This senseless shooting happened in the lobby with a meet and greet after her show where fans get the opportunity to mingle up close and personal. Most Meet and Greet opportunities can cost an arm and leg and usually is really there for the singers or groups to add more money into their pocket . ACTORS JOHN ASHTON and LISA EILBACHER HAVE RESTORED MY FAITH IN HOLLYWOOD

The Central Florida Film Festival was showing BEVERLY HILLS COP and showing up for a Q&A were John Ashton and Lisa Eilbacher two of the main stars who played along side Eddie Murphy. They sat on stage and spoked candidly about the movie and acting in general. I did not know Slyvester Stallone was the first choice and only John saw the finished project and only once. John spoke passionately that true acting is found on the stage as movies are always in the hands of the editors and Director. Personally never looked at it that way but it makes perfect sense. John mentioned that with several takes the one you might think was your best may end of the cutting floor with the final choice by the Director. Lisa spoke of her famous curls that many talked about and how much fun they all had during filming. Lisa spoke of her role in An Officer and a Gentleman and giving it up to raise a family. As millions are THE WALKING DEAD Series is followed like no other show that I can remember and is without a doubt my favorite. Now like many celebrities they only time one gets up and close are at Autograph Shows where people pay for an autograph with their favorite star. Now I can not say I have never paid for an autograph but will never pay for a photo with. About twenty " professional graphers " were prepared at a site that we all know in hopes of meeting many celebs who were attending a one day event that some of us donated money for the survivors of the ORLANDO PULSE NIGHT CLUB SHOOTING. Several started to file by including Director Greg Nictero who though in a rush was pleasant to all. Some harassed LAUEN COHAN who even barked at many "You guys are ridiculous " and signed a few with a Scribble that no one will know in a few years.
