SENSELESS KILLING OF SINGER CHRISTINA GRIMMIE

We were watching the championship Basketball game when breaking news of the shooting of singer Christina Grimmie flashed across the bottom of the screen on one of the local TV stations here in Orlando. Though I was not very familiar with Christina though I did remember her powerful performance in the VOICE competion which she placed a respectful 3rd. What I was truly familiar was the venue where this tragedy happen called the PLAZA LIVE. I have seen many shows there and have met even more acts after with most signing autographs and taking photos with all their different fans. This senseless shooting happened in the lobby with a meet and greet after her show where fans get the opportunity to mingle up close and personal. Most Meet and Greet opportunities can cost an arm and leg and usually is really there for the singers or groups to add more money into their pocket . I do believe Christina did not charge and was only there to thank her fans and show her appreciation to them. Though the venue has security and what we have observed have been more concerned with the graphers than scoping all the patrons that go through their doors. No metal detectors are installed and in this case probably would not have not made a difference to this crazed individual. It will be interesting and most likely very sad how no body but her Brother were there to tackle him after he shot this beautiful human being. I wish I had the connections to offer improve security to many of the stars and venues with out changing the opportunity for the fans to meet their favorites as we are on the front lines and focus on all the good things but see many that need to be improved. I have said it a hundred times that there is no security that can not be circumvented and all these venues need to do is ask and more preventative measures can be in place. I just got off the phone with a friend who also collects and concerns that autographing may have gotten tougher. Maybe so but most graphers know the limits and if anything would protect the star if situations may arise that would jeopardize a star who is their for their fans. MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH HER FAMILY.
