CROSSING PATHS WITH DIRECTOR JAMES CAMERON

I grew up watching THE TERMINATOR, TITANTIC, TRUE LIES and AVATAR and like so many of us they were among of favorites of all time. All have one thing in common and of course it's JAMES Cameron who directed them in a style that has made them classics.
Now he was in town at Disney for a conference concerning Avatar and DISNEYS plan to open a new project for everyone to enjoy. Now some of the graphers had his flight coming in but I have heard that he doesn't sign at the airports which I do not blame him at all. My cohort Rocketman and I were planning to see a comedian Ralpie May but we on hunch hoped that maybe CAMERON was going to stay at Animal Kingdom but there was no confirmation that he would be but we thought let's give it the College Try. We chatted about life and family when we were just about to give it up LI and behold he exited from a car not noticed by anyone EXCEPT US. As he approached the entrance we both approached him in a civil way asking for an autograph. Now JAMES CAMERON has a reputation of not signing so we were mentally prepared for possible disappointment. At first he tried to ignore us but we politely asked again with Rocketman talking better than any used car salesman could imagine. He stopped looked at both us and said" where are your tickets" and Rocket explained we have them are we were looking forward to his conversation. Then both our eyes lite up when he said" I usually do not do this but for you two I will. He then proceeded to sign Rockets Avatar DVD and my 11x17 of a picture of him so perfectly I could not believe it. On our request for a picture with he said sure and patiently posed with both us. As he walked away and we went on to our next stop we could not believe what just happened. We thought we won the Lottery meeting of one greatest directors of our generation. He was pleasant and very sure of himself which showed in his autograph which also showed he is a man of detail. On a hunch we were lucky enough to have a moment that did not seem possible but just shows never say never.

We were watching the championship Basketball game when breaking news of the shooting of singer Christina Grimmie flashed across the bottom of the screen on one of the local TV stations here in Orlando. Though I was not very familiar with Christina though I did remember her powerful performance in the VOICE competion which she placed a respectful 3rd. What I was truly familiar was the venue where this tragedy happen called the PLAZA LIVE. I have seen many shows there and have met even more acts after with most signing autographs and taking photos with all their different fans. This senseless shooting happened in the lobby with a meet and greet after her show where fans get the opportunity to mingle up close and personal. Most Meet and Greet opportunities can cost an arm and leg and usually is really there for the singers or groups to add more money into their pocket . ACTORS JOHN ASHTON and LISA EILBACHER HAVE RESTORED MY FAITH IN HOLLYWOOD

The Central Florida Film Festival was showing BEVERLY HILLS COP and showing up for a Q&A were John Ashton and Lisa Eilbacher two of the main stars who played along side Eddie Murphy. They sat on stage and spoked candidly about the movie and acting in general. I did not know Slyvester Stallone was the first choice and only John saw the finished project and only once. John spoke passionately that true acting is found on the stage as movies are always in the hands of the editors and Director. Personally never looked at it that way but it makes perfect sense. John mentioned that with several takes the one you might think was your best may end of the cutting floor with the final choice by the Director. Lisa spoke of her famous curls that many talked about and how much fun they all had during filming. Lisa spoke of her role in An Officer and a Gentleman and giving it up to raise a family. As millions are THE WALKING DEAD Series is followed like no other show that I can remember and is without a doubt my favorite. Now like many celebrities they only time one gets up and close are at Autograph Shows where people pay for an autograph with their favorite star. Now I can not say I have never paid for an autograph but will never pay for a photo with. About twenty " professional graphers " were prepared at a site that we all know in hopes of meeting many celebs who were attending a one day event that some of us donated money for the survivors of the ORLANDO PULSE NIGHT CLUB SHOOTING. Several started to file by including Director Greg Nictero who though in a rush was pleasant to all. Some harassed LAUEN COHAN who even barked at many "You guys are ridiculous " and signed a few with a Scribble that no one will know in a few years.
