FROM DAVID ALLEN COE TO DON FELDER
BIKE WEEK to see DAVID ALLEN COE play at the Iron Horse Saloon where he plays for free for all his fans every year. He played for 90 minutes and I truly felt was the best his voice and singing had been for sometime. After he performed he went backstage where several of us were hoping he'd sign our different items. I was lucky enough to share a few words and stories with his security detail and it paid off. He took my items back and signed them beautifully. As the old adage goes it's who you know. He came out later and signed for my buddies so all went well. He took pictures with dozens of his fans and part of his trademark, he never smiles.
From there we headed down a few miles to catch former EAGLES guitarist DON FELDER. We walked around and thought we missed the show as it was so dead and hardly anyone around. After asking a policeman who was as friendly as could be told it was going to start a little later. Then we heard the voice and guitar that is synonymous with this fine musician. We walked in as no security was around and caught the whole show for free. Unbelievable. We. Positioned ourselves by the van we were sure was taking him after the show and we were perfectly right. Felder is usually very tough and we had no idea if he would sign if we approached him. We asked as he came down the walkway and he responded " I Will ". He came to us and calmly said" only one and to who you want it to" .He signed my Hotel California album but ignored our requests with a photo with but it still was OK. As we walked away we felt like we did win the Daily Double, seeing 2 icons and their shows without paying a single dollar. It was a great day and night.
