SOPHIA LOREN DID NOT KEEP HER WORD TO HER FANS

Just like all of us hopefully many times in ones life we will,have an anticipation of excitment when going somewhere or when meeting someone special that You have admired from a far. SOPHIA LOREN was doing a question and answer night at a venue that was 2 1/2 hours away and Rocket Man and Anxious John said it would be an opportunity that does not come every 20 years, So we took off in an adventure that had its near misses with dying in an auto and eating food that had people serving us that must have hated their job.We arrived a little early in hopes of catching Ms. Loren before her show and there already was 7 people waiting with the same idea we had. As all graphers do when waiting , we shared stories and information in a most cordial atmosphere. We heard stories that Ms. Loren was hot and cold and we only hoped we were on a good day. So waiting where we were paid off as she arrived with her entourage and all prepare ourselves in an orderly fashion and watched as she exited the Tahoe she arrived in. She glanced our way and heard our requests and she responded' I promise I will get you after the event" So understanding as we were we took her WORD as a guarantee and decided to get a bite to eat and come back later. Now John was driving which is always an experience from driving over a curb to driving 10 miles under the speed limit. No Matter what it is always entertaining and it was Rocket Mans baptism with his driving skills. Well we did make it it back and the crowd grew to about 20 which included 10 professional graphers and 10 novices that were hoping to see her and maybe get her book or program signed. Now first we were informed that she would be in there for another hour and half( Typical ploy to wean out the crowd. And it did of the older crowd coming from the show. The rest of us stood strong even with a security guard who tried to get us to go back 100 feet which also failed.Then we heard she had a 300 dollar meet and greet where about 100 people paid for which consisted of her sitting in a chair and one by one get a picture with which lasted a healthy 10 seconds. I guess many people have money to burn in the rising and we all say ridiculous prices to have a photo with a star that is only a star because of the public support. Instead of an hour an half , 15 minutes passed and she was led by her staff and we were preparing to get at least one item signed. SO WE THOUGHT. Our requests fell on her deaf years and not even a glance. Now we were told that she hurt in leg at the airport but we truly believed HER WORD that she would sign and sitting down is as easy as anything else. Angry was not the thought but true disappointment from someone who could have been our Mother in Age but not a role model that any will follow. Especially all that were there. She will always be considered a legend to those who have seen her movies, read her press but not what any of us expected. I should have listened to an old friend who told me of his barber going home to Italy for a High School Reunion which she attended. He told him that she was more than stuck up and almost non approachable. Some people just don't change but our opinions have concerning the famous Ms. Loren.
