SISSY SPACEK THE PERFECT MEET AS AN AUTOGRAPH AND PERSON

Never believe all that you hear is a phrase that is associated to many things we have encountered in our daily lives and it was so evident in meeting the Oscar winning actress SISSY SPACEK. First of all she is truly one of my all time favorites from movies ranging from COAL MINERS DAUGHTER to the eerie CARRIE and always hope to meet her which in reality thought might not happen.She was in town for a film festival showing her role in BADLANDS and word around town was she was very difficult. First she was harassed at the airport and at the venue the promoters made it very difficult with a 150 dollar meet and greet as the main opportunity to meet this great star. With HotDog and Rocketman we used some smarts to figure where she may be staying and took a chance. With luck on our side, she arrived close to 11 PM. Immediately her manager came out and told us she was not signing and back off. I caught a glimpse of her sitting in the car and smiled then calling the manager back and before you knew it we were told she would sign one. And that she did. She was pleasant and cordial to everyone and after signing our items she went one by one with a picture making sure everyone's came out perfect.Only a few stars that I can remember follow this practice. She was wonderful and photographs better than any star that I can remember also.She has a radiant look taht shows how beautiful she is inside and out. At 66 born on Christmas Day she has become our early Christmas Gift that I personally will cherish for many years and never forget how special this moment was to us all.

We were watching the championship Basketball game when breaking news of the shooting of singer Christina Grimmie flashed across the bottom of the screen on one of the local TV stations here in Orlando. Though I was not very familiar with Christina though I did remember her powerful performance in the VOICE competion which she placed a respectful 3rd. What I was truly familiar was the venue where this tragedy happen called the PLAZA LIVE. I have seen many shows there and have met even more acts after with most signing autographs and taking photos with all their different fans. This senseless shooting happened in the lobby with a meet and greet after her show where fans get the opportunity to mingle up close and personal. Most Meet and Greet opportunities can cost an arm and leg and usually is really there for the singers or groups to add more money into their pocket . ACTORS JOHN ASHTON and LISA EILBACHER HAVE RESTORED MY FAITH IN HOLLYWOOD

The Central Florida Film Festival was showing BEVERLY HILLS COP and showing up for a Q&A were John Ashton and Lisa Eilbacher two of the main stars who played along side Eddie Murphy. They sat on stage and spoked candidly about the movie and acting in general. I did not know Slyvester Stallone was the first choice and only John saw the finished project and only once. John spoke passionately that true acting is found on the stage as movies are always in the hands of the editors and Director. Personally never looked at it that way but it makes perfect sense. John mentioned that with several takes the one you might think was your best may end of the cutting floor with the final choice by the Director. Lisa spoke of her famous curls that many talked about and how much fun they all had during filming. Lisa spoke of her role in An Officer and a Gentleman and giving it up to raise a family. As millions are THE WALKING DEAD Series is followed like no other show that I can remember and is without a doubt my favorite. Now like many celebrities they only time one gets up and close are at Autograph Shows where people pay for an autograph with their favorite star. Now I can not say I have never paid for an autograph but will never pay for a photo with. About twenty " professional graphers " were prepared at a site that we all know in hopes of meeting many celebs who were attending a one day event that some of us donated money for the survivors of the ORLANDO PULSE NIGHT CLUB SHOOTING. Several started to file by including Director Greg Nictero who though in a rush was pleasant to all. Some harassed LAUEN COHAN who even barked at many "You guys are ridiculous " and signed a few with a Scribble that no one will know in a few years.
