FRANKIE VALLI IS FOREVER FOR 4 SEASONS
For those who grew up and were exposed to a new wave of music that revolutionized the way we heard in the 60's there were several bands that lead the way with the most loyal of fans who rushed to music store to buy the new record released. You had the Beatles, The Stones, Kinks and to many you had the 4 Seasons. Though the newer generation have experienced their music of the 4 Seasons by the hit play JERSEY BOYS many still can see the Lead singer FRANKIE VALLI as the front man for this Hall of Fame Musical legend and sound. They had so many hits from Dawn, Big Boys Don't Cry, Walk Like a Man , I always remembered LETS HANG ON. Its strange but there are songs that we can pin point the year or place we were at and that song in 1965 hung around the top five for over 2 months between a BEATLES and STONES musical hits on a 45 record that now is looked at as a collectable. Though the 4 SEASONS are no longer , FRANKIE VALLI continues to live and perform to sold out shows and though at 81 he still has the charisma and the voice that is not like any other performer.
Over the years I have tried numerous times to meet this legend but always fell short of attaining this goals and wish. So when the opportunity arose again when he was to perform here in our area , I had to pull out all stops. Taking my wife along with me , I was going to attempt to see if I could meet him at his sound test with information given to me on his routine by another grapher known as School Boy.It paid off. He arrived a few hours prior to show time and as he exited we called to get his attention. His handler at first said NO and tried to push along Frankie but he turned and said " I will do one" . He still has that smile with almost looked like a twinkle that resonated from his perfect teeth. Though we were successful , I was determined to get a picture with him. So we returned to the spot again after his show with about 20 plus others all lined up to have a picture or an autograph that they wanted to cherish forever. Still we were not sure if he would come out but Frankie did not disappoint his fans. We all took our time in line and one by one approached him giving one autograph each and taking a picture also. I handed an extra album to a young man as a pay forward gesture who due to a hearing problem was listening to Frankie for years and able to due to the higher pitch that he delivers. I watched each patron come up to Frankie and he thanked them and made each one feel a bit special from this special man. I will Forever be a Fan and realize that this may have a been a once in a lifetime experience to see, hear and meet this singer that is small in stature but giant in a thank You to his fans.
