This week had many opportunities to meet and hopefully score a few autographs with many celebs that were in our area. So many feel that all celebs are kind and appreciative when they meet their fans but that is not always the story. Thus is why I am sharing this past week experiences.
THE GOOD
Met actor GARY SINESE after narratoring the DISNEYS CANDLELIGHT PROCESSIONAL and though I have met him several times I never stop at the chance of meeting this gifted actor from fame as LT DAN in FORREST GUMP and so many other roles they can not be all mentioned. We met him as he had finished and though he was not feeling well he took the time to say hello and sign a few autographs. He could have blown us off but he chose not to and remains THE GOOD. Also another good was ALAN THICKE from the days of GROWING PAINS and met and had signed a few autographs after starring in a play in a remote area. He was charming to those who wanted a photograph though he was trying to get out to be with his family.
THE BAD
AARON LEWIS a great singer and was the the lead for the group STAIN but has ventured into a solo career , was playing at the HOUSE OF BLUES in ORLANDO. Though I met him before after another show where he was very accommodating to his fans I truly thought he would continue on this same demeanor. His show was to end at 10:30 but he continued to play and play until after midnight. Now most of us music lovers would love that but the truth of it and was shared by everyone who left the venue that he was so drunk that he slurred many of the words and forget many of the lyrics. After the show there were only 5 of us waiting to get an autograph but maybe due to being so intoxicated he crashed on his bus and never appeared. Very Disappointing and bad to the true fans.
Now for the UGLY.
Comedian and actor BILL MURRAY was in town playing golf and watching his son coach a basketball team in a tournament at the WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS. People had tweeted pictures of him the stands so it does not take a Rocket Scientist to figure out where he may be staying. So a friend of mine used his know how and determines what hotel he may be staying at and in this story he was correct. They quietly and patiently waited in the lobby and sure enough Murray came in after playing golf. They approached him in a civil way and you would think that from all his movies you would meet a laughing and joyful fellow.. NOT AT ALL. He went ballistic and every four letter word and tirade at these individuals who were just fans. "You are he third group who has approached me with memorabilia and how the Fu-k do you find me here" . "I am going to call the Cops". Now some may say this may be one instance but a few of us met him at his charity event in St Augustine a few years back, and he was rude, obnoxious and very very Drunk at that time also. So when we had warned that this is a normal course that he usually follows , none of us were surprised. I will not watch any of his movies because what you see on the screen is not what you get in person.
