CHEAP TRICK WAS MORE A TRICK THAN A TREAT

I like millions other have been listening to CHEAP TRICK from the early 70's enjoying many of their great hits and 40 years later 3 of the original member's are still performing on a regular basis. In all my years I have not met RICK NIELSON the lead guitarist though I did meet ROBIN ZANDERS about 7 years ago and he was terrific. Rocket Man and I took a chance at a possible hotel and with in minutes we met TOM PETTERSEN the bass player who was friendly and chatted with us for a few minutes. He never hesitated signing the albums but when I gave him a single photo , he mentioned what I can not stand more than nails on a blackboard. "You going to sell that on EBAY" and I looked at him and finally said what I was always thinking. NOT AT THIS TIME. I will one day maybe sooner than latter as what is going to happen to them when I gone one Day" which I said with a smile to hi. He looked at me and said" You are right. Thanks for being honest" and off he went into the van that was waiting for him. Then came Rick. He meandered around a vintage car that was parked nearby and took his time coming over to us knowing quite well what our intentions were. It never ceases to amaze me why so celebs do that. Would it be nice to come over to share a few words with some fans. Well finally he came over signing the few items we had never saying a word until I mentioned his experience on the TV show AMERICAN PICKERS. Never smiling he said " The girl on the show is going to be here tonight"
That was all he said to us. I was lucky to get a picture with him and when the camera malfunctioned for the Rocket Mans Turn he ignore all requests to try another and slide into the van. Though Rocket did get one in passing with him after the show how difficult would it have been to wait another 5 seconds. Their show was terrific and still know how to please their fans from a distance but they may need some reminding of social skills when one on one with true fans.
