REMEMBERING FOOTBALL GREAT FRANK GIFFORD

I had sad moment when I heard of the passing of FRANK GIFFORD at the age of 84 but a sentimental one followed when I flashed back when My Father and I met him when I was 10 years old. At that early age I was getting into sports and living in New York everyone knew the great New York Giant Football star as one of the great receivers of the game . So all my memories are that of a bigger than life individual that had the posture and look of a Greek God. He was kind and even laughed at one of my jokes as we road in a taxi to the UCP Telethon that my Father was part of in the early sixties. Yes we have other memories of Number 16 when he was MVP of the League and was part of the 1956 Championship Team and fitting honor of being elected to Cantons HOF in 1977. Now many others in the next generation heard his voice as a mainstay on ABCs Monday Night Football from 1971 to 1998. Now as many do he made some mistakes and tried to mend all fences but I will always remember him as a kind man who smiled and was kind to everyone he met with impression that has stayed with me since I was a little boy and will continue until I am an old man. Rest in Peace Frank Gifford and we all know You will be on the starting team in heaven.
