IF YOU DO NOT KNOW IRIS DEMENT, YOU REALLY SHOULD

      Up to a few years back I never really listened, ( as we have found others probably never really listen to +IRIS DEMENTs music. One thing is forcertain, that it had been truly my loss.




     Her song LEANING ON THE EVERLASTING ARMS was the final song in the closing credits of the +COEN BROTHER's TRUE GRIT which made many of us instant admirers. As an American Singer and song writer she has been touring playing many of her new songs from her latest album.

     We took a chance and waited outside the venue hoping to speak with her prior to her show in the Orlando area. As we noticed a car pulled up to the backstage door and  out she comes. Approaching her and asking for a possible autograph, she looked at us and with beautiful sincerity and responded " I WOULD LOVE TO," Iris chatted about the tour and how much she appreciated my comments on how I became a fan after hearing her song in the True Grit Movie.


     She never stopped smiling,  her kindness and generosity was evident in the time Iris took for the autograph thus the conformability with taking a couple of pictures. Take a few moments and listen to her wide range of great music,  many more will realize the kindness and words from her heart that will be shared as a fan and friend. We are  both of these as of today.

The Central Florida Film Festival was showing BEVERLY HILLS COP and showing up for a Q&A were John Ashton and Lisa Eilbacher two of the main stars who played along side Eddie Murphy. They sat on stage and spoked candidly about the movie and acting in general. I did not know Slyvester Stallone was the first choice and only John saw the finished project and only once. John spoke passionately that true acting is found on the stage as movies are always in the hands of the editors and Director. Personally never looked at it that way but it makes perfect sense. John mentioned that with several takes the one you might think was your best may end of the cutting floor with the final choice by the Director. Lisa spoke of her famous curls that many talked about and how much fun they all had during filming. Lisa spoke of her role in An Officer and a Gentleman and giving it up to raise a family. SENSELESS KILLING OF SINGER CHRISTINA GRIMMIE

We were watching the championship Basketball game when breaking news of the shooting of singer Christina Grimmie flashed across the bottom of the screen on one of the local TV stations here in Orlando. Though I was not very familiar with Christina though I did remember her powerful performance in the VOICE competion which she placed a respectful 3rd. What I was truly familiar was the venue where this tragedy happen called the PLAZA LIVE. I have seen many shows there and have met even more acts after with most signing autographs and taking photos with all their different fans. This senseless shooting happened in the lobby with a meet and greet after her show where fans get the opportunity to mingle up close and personal. Most Meet and Greet opportunities can cost an arm and leg and usually is really there for the singers or groups to add more money into their pocket . I do believe Christina did not charge and was only there to thank her fans and show her appreciation to them. Though th
