MY TRIBUTE TO ROBIN WILLIAMS
Today My buddy called me first of news that I am still in total shock and my eyes still watery on the sudden passing of ROBIN WILLIAMS. I can say I grew up watching him thru the years from Mork and Mindy to his Oscar Performing roles in Dead Poet Society , Good Morning Vietnam and my favorite GARP.. Everything he said made someone smile either in his one man shows or on the Late Night Circuit with no idea what he may say to show his great genius. He once told that many of his improvisations came by hanging out with JONATHAN WINTERS in his attic and just grabbing toys and making things up on the spur of the moment. What Magic must have been there with those Comical geniuses . Only God Knows.
For Years he was on my bucket list of Personalities I always wanted to meet. I did get that lucky moment when he was performing at one of the local venues and had the opportunity to meet, speak with him and signed for quite of enduring fans of their items that I am sure most still have to this day. I remember mentioning to my wife that he seemed somewhat shy and almost withdrawn with the one on one contact with all of us and not the crazy nothing that would ever bother him as we saw him on stage. My Picture came out somewhat dark also strangely enough but I never forgot the moment as one of my all time favorites. Like all of us he will be missed dearly and has been taken early either by accident, the power of above or by depression that haunted him for years. Maybe he has found Peace finally but the Earth has lost an Angel but in Heaven he has gained his wings.
Really, really nice, Ray.
