The Story will Go On!
When meeting many personalities you never know how they in person and not what we see on the stage or screen. Today was a very interesting one and I was not disappointed at the least. My first stop was at a musical venue that had AMOS LEE who to many is one of the great talents to come on the music scene . I waited in my car near what I presumed was his touring bus in hopes of catching him before his sound check for his show that evening. Had my lucky hat on and it seemed to have pay off. He was outside and I politely asked if he would mind signing a couple of items. He said" Got to go in the bus but give me a couple of minutes" Many will say the same line and take as long as they please. But true to his word, he came out and even apologized for keeping me waiting. Whoa, What a class act. He signed away and we chatted for a while as if I was an old classmate or in my case maybe a teacher. The only thing wrong is my camera did not work. He even waited to see if we could get it working. As he left he said " Tell Your Brother I said hi" which was part of my conversation about how much my Brother loved his music. So I jumped into my car and met my buddy who goes by HOTDOG. He had found a small article telling the world that JOHN TRAVOLTA was opening a new Film Festival in Ocala where he resides part time. So off we went and drove close to a 100 miles to see this great actor who I have met and rated as the 2nd best I have ever met. We found the theatre where he was to be at for a champagne toast that he was to lead. Luck is always a gift that I especially never take for granted. As we were sitting near the area we were sure they would go in at, a couple passing by out of the clear cool night offered their wrist bands to HotDog to allow us to go inside as a guest for the champagne toast. As we were thanking them John and his wife pulled up but were escorted in with no chance of us getting near due to 8 cops that protected him. So we decided to go in and were there when they introduced John and he spoke to the crowd. I had a funny feeling this was going to be an in and out and sure it was. Hotdog and I went back to the area outside where he came in not 5 minutes later and there he was. As he was about to follow Kelly his wife into the car we shouted out " John Please a Minute of Your Time" He looked up and came over to us and signed 3 albums that I had and 3 pictures for Hotdog and we almost blew it as we did not have the marker out and no camera. He went straight back to the car and off he went and though it was a quick one ,we were the only ones that he signed for that evening. What a day and being with good company and meeting 2 class acts in one day really makes You realize what a great hobby this can be at times.
