HERMAN HERMITS
Last Night I caught HERMAN HERMITS which is really PETER NOONE at the Epcot Concert Series. They were the number 3 all time British Bands from the 60's invasion for selling records only behind the Beatles and the Stones. Many of us remember Mrs. Brown You Got a Lovely daughter and Henry the 8th I am as 2 of their many great hits. Peter Noone comes back every year for the Flower Power Series and I have to say puts on one of the best shows and keeps the audience entertained, plus his voice is still excellent throughout his PERFORMANCE. The evening was going great as I had a couple of albums and photos that I gave to the manager who had Peter sign them between the 3 shows he performs for 3 days. She brought them out to me and I wanted to see the last show and hopefully get a picture with him and also Thank Him.
Peter always leaves quickly so you have to keep an eye out to watch both ways he may exit. Well sure enough he left on the far one and I quickly went to the area to meet him. Someone already stopped him for a request to have a picture and THEN I saw another side that caught me by surprise.
I asked if I too can take a minute to have a picture and he responded" EVERYONE ALWAYS SAYS THAT AND I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO STOP'. The fellow I handed the camera didn't know what he was doing and before I could show him, Noone took off. No word just took off among the crowd walking about and as I walked behind him he almost was knocking people over and was quite impolite. One person walked next to him and told how much she enjoyed the show and NOT even a thank You or a look which the person really looked puzzled and said " How Rude" He Zig Zag thru the crowd all the way to his hotel and never shared a word with anyone except his guitar player who met up with him. I just let him go and felt that no matter what a good show he put on his ego appears so inflated that I would not waste my time again to share a few words. That is one drawback when you graph though the audience sees one type of performer on stage as Dr. Jeckel and we may see the Mr. Hyde. I do not have to say anymore. Would You?
