Dream Team Autographs

When I was growing up My Father always was involved in many projects and had by use posters and signs in many of the displays. He regularly went to a store in Massepegua to have them done and You guess it ,it was JERRY SEINFELDs Father who own the store. Though he never told us that he met a young Seinfeld, I have seen his show up close and have met him several times. People do ask how do you meet them and some will always be like clockwork, the same routine as the time before. Jerry usually never signs in doors because he would never be able to leave the venue with the huge crowds he attracts at the shows. The plan is always wait outside the back door , do not push and crowd and get in an orderly line and will sign one each. Of course there are those who try to sneak from the front to the back of the line and if he or his handlers notice it , HE IS DONE.    The new hit series on Netflix’s is ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK with a variety of stars that have developed a huge following.  One of them TARYN MANNING who plays Tiffany "Pennsatucky" Doggett flew into town to DJ at a local Gay Club along with another member from the show. Manning has had a following since  being in Sons of Anarchy and also has had a  Playboy pictorial in April of 2011.   Some of the graphers had her flight and with the help of one of my fellow graphers Tattoo Mike gave me the info on the hotel and where the venue was downtown. I drove down to the venue site and immediately we knew that it would be close to the impossible to meet and chat with her as the place was filled to the capacity. Therefore we went down to the hotel had a beer and did the waiting game.  We Waited and waited as she did not go on until almost   12 midnight . She staggered in about   2:45 am  and was as pleasant as anyone could...

 After work I headed down to a venue where singer JACKSON BROWNE was to perform his many hits that night .I decided to go by the stage door a few hours before the show in hopes of giving a few albums for him to sign either to him personally or one of his roadies. I did not have to wait too long when I saw a gentleman wearing the special access badge with Brownes name on it. I explained to him my intentions and told me he would be right back. A few minutes later a gentleman came out and asked if he could help me. I informed him that I was hoping to get a few items signed which were for my collection and a couple of my patients who also were big fans. Everyone knows that is the trademark of LARRY THE CABLE GUY but many do not know that is one of the most caring individuals you can ever had the pleasure of meeting. Larry has a fundraiser for Children with Hip Dysplasia that he holds in Orlando and another in Nebraska. A few of us had the great pleasure of attending the initial  fundraiser with some legends of comedy. First there was JEFF FOXWORTHY  who is as friendly as a teddy bear. He will talk with everyone share a joke and always is a great listener. BILL ENGVALL  also was attending who accepts the limelight when he is thrust into it but is always happy to stay back in the crowd and let the others take some of the fan fare. Getting an autograph or a Picture with one of your favorites takes planning ,know how , luck and most of the time patience. One of my favorites JOE MORTON was in town. Now some may say WHO? but he always has a stand out roll in may of the movies as a supporting actor to the main character. Now my favorite was his role in TERMINATOR with Arnold and Linda Hamilton as the scientist MILES DYSON. , His scene where he is holding the trigger for the bomb to destroy the building > I am Not sure how long I can hold this" when he is shot by the police. He was also in SPEED , Miss Ever's Boys, TVs Eureka, Scandal ( up for Emmy ) and others. He was narrating at a special event and four of us waiting about 15 minutes when he came out. Approaching him with our request , he politely said" I am Late I can do one  " and that he did for 3 of us but no picture. Today I learned of another Rock N Roll Legend that has passed. JOHNNY WINTER died at 70  after performing 4 days ago in Switzerland. I had the opprtunity of meeting him 3 times over the past 25 years and we all noticed that his health has been failing over the past few years. Many times he was wheeled to stage in a wheelchair , on oxygen and the music was not always up to the standards that he wanted himself.  He went to different venues here in the States in a camper and many times after the show his manager would take a few items into the camper after his performance and would sign with out any complaints. When he signed because of his failing eyesight he would keep his head only a few inches from the item he was signing and Many of witnessed this during a signing at a local record store last year. BUT I would to emphasize that during the height of his fame and popurality in the 60;s thru the 80's he genuis on the the guitar was outstanding and energy he played and exhibited...

  Another great Film following was on the other day THE PUNISH ER starring THOMAS PAYNE.  I Had the opportunity to meet him at a Showing of this Film at a Film Festival.  Shorter than I imagined and the oddity of all was he does not WEAR ANY SHOES. HE jumped around and went to different interviews with out  a care in the world. Took pictures and signed autographs if you were able to have him stay put for a minute. Also I had the pleasure of meeting JEFF CHASE a former football player turned actor with a massive body built.    As big as he is , his appreciation of his fans is even bigger. He has played in several movies including The Mechanic and a few other supporting character roles. Get a chance to say hello to either of these fine people and you will not be disappointed.
