GRACE SLICK: A TRUE ICON

When we were growing up and music became an escape for us all, the 60's produced some of the greatest. Music that still stands tall to this day. We all loved the BEATLES and the ROLLING STONES, but other groups like JEFFERSON AIRPLANE had some of the most loyal followers. The first time I heard and saw GRACE SLICK perform was in 1969 at an outdoor festival with CHUCK BERRY, CANNED HEAT, and headliner, JEFFERSON AIRPLANE. Grace hypnotized us all will her rendition of White Rabbit and Volunteer so that we fell in love with her. She had an onstage presence that told us she was one of the first lead singers of a supergroup who was a woman.    The years went by and never in my wildest dreams did I believe there would be an opportunity to meet the legend. But,  if you have patience, good things will usually happen.  Over the past several years she took up painting and had quite a different and unique style. She painted the rock stars of the the earlier days...

IRONE FROM THE WALKING DEAD WHERE ARE YOU

Image
Like so many true followers THE WALKING DEAD is one of the best TV shows that has carried on a continuous following. Many characters have come and gone but are not forgotten. IRONE SINGLETON also known as T - DOG played a main role in the series until he was eliminated from a walker. We had the pleasure of meeting him at a show a couple years back and there is not a nicer guy You can meet. He greeted and met all his fans like they were instant friends which is rare in itself .       This fine young actor will be gift to anyone when You meet him , so go out,  find him and make a new and memorable friend!

Michael Biehn Was Terrific

Image
I have always believed that things happen for a reason and if you play your cards right ,always for the best. We were attending an autograph show with many celebrities attending when we ran into ZACHARY QUINTO. He later gained fame as Dr. Spock in Star Trek movies of a few years ago.         He was terrific and we shared our thoughts of some of his roles at the time including CHARMED which he was terrific. I had a ACADEMY AWARD poster that had dozens of stars we had met over the year and when he signed it he was so sincere and showed us his gratitude just because we showed him some attention that he rightfully deserved. He invited us as his guests to a VIP Party and we definitely accepted. As we milled about the party we ran into one of my favorite actors, MICHAEL BIEHN famous in ALIENS, Reese in THE TERMINATOR classic and his hypnotizing role as Johnny Ringo in TOMBSTONE.       He was standing alone and invited us to his table to just " Hang Out"....

KRIS KRISTOFFERSON

Image
Over the years there have been many stars that I always put on a bucket list and one of my personal favorites is KRIS KRISTOFFERSON. As a singer he plays and sings his music as if it was made one of each of us and the voice that resonates differently from all others. Though his music was special to most , his acting was also in a style that was one we routed for . In  movies such as A STAR IS BORN, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid  were many a fan favorite but his roles in the BLADE series as Whistler made him more fans than I imagine he could ever believe.      He was performing at a local venue and after the show no less than 75 people waited outside in the hopes of just saying hello. As true as he could be, he stopped for Each fan and I mean each fan and signed what they had and took  a picture with them when at times he must have patience of a saint. When he got to us he chatted even more as we had some mutual friends from a time back and a...

JIM STAFFORD IS TRULY A NICE GUY

Image
We were able to finally meet a very funny guy , JIM STAFFORD.  For years he has been performing in BRANSON, MISSOURI with a comedy and singing act performing in front of sold out crowds for years. We were lucky enough to catch him in MT DORA and he is one of the friendliest Personalities that You can ever meet. His show is for all ages and sings his number big hit SPIDERS AND SNAKES and SWAMP WITCH and and keeps the show moving a fine pace. He had a scheduled meet and greet after at a local restaurant but still had the time to come out and meet about 20 fans in the Venue Lobby. He shook hands, commented on his photos we had signed and took pictures with all as if they were part of his family. I asked him " You are not thinking of retiring" and he drew me close,"       No this is all I know or want to do" and with a big smile thanked me for all my kind words .I know sometimes Nice Guys Finish Last but he will alwa...

Meeting one of the Greats

Image
I have always been a fan of PROCOL HAREM in the early years seeing them for the first time in NYC many years ago and always admired the Great Guitarist ROBIN TROWER. When he went on to his solo career  one of the great albums of all time BRIDGE OF SIGHS with the haunting sound of his great talent. He was playing at a local venue and the thought of meeting again motivated me to get there a earlier which paid off. Being the only one there , I love that time as You can reflect on Life itself and realize some of the good things we have on a every day plan. The alone time is a great form of meditating and just relaxing. He pulled up in a SUV van with the members of his band and his manager and was as pleasant as ca be. We chatted for a few with his great English accent, took some pictures and was as friendly as anyone could be. After the show I was told he took the time and signed for those waiting which almost numbered a hundred with no complaints. He is nearing 70( Will be in March) ...

THE BEGINNING OF THE END OF COLLECTING AUTOGRAPHS

In 1962 at 10 years old is when I received my first autograph. I began meeting celebrities at Telethons, plays and directly through the mail with a simple address labeled "Hollywood, California", with a 3 cent stamp.     As I got older my mind grew and I used my new intelligence learning the in and outs of meeting stars after shows. i.e,  where they enter and exit at venue, hotels where they are staying as well as, over this last year, I have used detective integrity on finding flights in and out of local airports. I bought many historical items from reputable dealers when the costs were reasonable to satisfied my thirst of information of the early 1800's and especially the War Between the States. Up to when EBAY began selling autographs from anyone who wanted to list anything, autographing was a true hobby and enjoyment for me. At first I had no problem with it as it open the world of collecting to everyone who may not have...

A 24 STAR THAT IS PRICELESS

Image
Have You ever been excited to do something, see a Movie or Meet someone that You were Looking forward to see only to be let down. WELL NOT IN THIS CASE. My son and I have always been great fans of the TV show 24 with Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer.      The other lead role was and still is was MARY LYNN RAJSKUB who plays Chole as the computer genius. She was always somewhat mysterious and very Gothic in her appearance. When I heard that she was as a headliner at a Comedy Improv ,I just could not resist in the chance of meeting this fine star. Now I have been disappointed in the past when I was excited to meet a personality that I admired and most importantly respected. But I can tell everyone SHE WAS TERRIFIC and better than I could imagine. After her stand up show she came out and greeted and signed autographs for her fans who waited patiently in line. She greeted everyone with a smile and patiently took pictures with all taken b...
